Year after year, beauty continues to grow as a prominent category at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Over 4,000 exhibitors participated in a whirlwind week of tech innovation at CES 2025, showing off their latest products and services to more than 130,000 attendees. Artificial intelligence (AI) is now the new standard across nearly all devices seen at the annual showcase. Beauty tech is proving more intelligent and personalized than ever, from smart mirrors that analyze the skin in real time to devices that adapt treatments based on user data. K-beauty brands and companies dominated the weeklong event, displaying futuristic skincare devices and technology that solidify their position as leaders in this evolving market.

In case you missed it, here’s a roundup of the latest beauty tools and technologies unveiled at CES 2025.

L’Oréal’s Cell BioPrint

L’Oréal unveiled its latest innovation, the Cell BioPrint, a cutting-edge device designed to provide personalized skin assessments. Developed in partnership with Korean start-up NanoEnTek, this tabletop device aims to revolutionize skincare diagnostics in dermatology offices, beauty retailers, and skincare clinics.

The Cell BioPrint utilizes advanced proteomics—the study of proteins in the human body—to analyze the biological and chronological age of the skin, along with its responsiveness to various skincare ingredients. The process is simple and noninvasive: a tape strip is applied to the cheek to collect a sample, which is then placed in a buffer solution and analyzed by the machine. Simultaneously, the Skin Connect device captures high-resolution facial images while the user completes a questionnaire about their skin concerns and lifestyle habits.

Five minutes later, the device delivers a detailed report that includes the skin’s biological age, ingredient recommendations, and proactive skincare strategies. This analysis allows users to shift from reactive skincare routines to targeted, data-driven approaches. By addressing concerns such as fine lines, acne, or dark spots, the device helps consumers select products tailored to their unique needs.

Barbara Lavernos, Deputy CEO of Research, Innovation, and Technology at L’Oréal, emphasized the significance of this breakthrough, stating, “With skin being the largest organ, and a key part of people's well-being, we are thrilled to unveil Cell BioPrint, an exclusive microfluidic lab-on-a-chip technology coupled with our century-long skin science leadership."

The Cell BioPrint is set to launch in Asia later this year, with plans to expand globally.
